In July 2020, during a Hollywood Hills party, rapper Tory Lanez fired five shots at the feet of fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion, putting her life at risk. Today Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty on all charges at his trial in Los Angeles.

Lanez, originally from Canada, could face up to 22 years in prison and deportation to his home country after the judge found him guilty of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, testified that Lanez shot at her feet five times following a party in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020. She told the court that the shooting was preceded by an argument between Megan and Lanez that got heated, especially when they began attacking each other’s music careers.
