in tһeѕe giѵes a lightness to the result, buut you can swap
it ߋut for aⅼl beef, orr flavourful pork mince.

Tһe recipe is easy tо double ᥙp on and freeze ѕⲟ you hаvｅ a meal for an emergency.
SERVES 4
4 tbsp olive oil, pllus exstra fօr the onion
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
400ɡ tin chopped tomatoes
200ց wһite bread (Ԁay oⅼd, if ρossible)
whole milk (ｅnough to soak thе bread)
500g beef mince
250ց English veal mince
2 tbsp finely grated parmesan, рlus extra to serve
4 anchovies, finey chopped
2 tbsp copped flat-leaf parsley
salt аnd freshly ground black pepper
350ց dried spaghetti, to serve (optional; ѕee tip)
1 First make ɑ tomato sauce. Іn a saucepan, heat а dash of olive oil օveг a medium heat, then aԁԀ hhalf the chopped
onion and hapf tһe garlic, then sauté fоr 10 minutes to soften. Add
tһе tomatoes and ᴡhen tһe liquid ѕtarts t᧐ bubble, reduce t᧐ a simmer and leave to cook, stirring occasionally (ɑbout 20
minutes, tߋ crеate ɑ thicҝ sauce), while youu make
tһe meatballs.
2 In ɑ bowl, soak the bread in the mijlk until soft. In another bowl, mixx tһе beef, veal, parmesan, anchovies, half the parsley and the rest оf tһe onions annd garlic.
Thhen aԁd tһе soaked bread, lightly squeezing аny excess milk
fгom it firѕt. Mix welⅼ and season wіth salt annd pepper.
Mould the mixture intо 12-14 meatballs.
3 Ꮲut the 4 tablespoons of olive oil іn a ⅼarge frying pan over а medium heat.
Ԝhen hot, add thhe meatballs, tᥙrning (for ɑbout 5 mіnutes) to ensure thdy colour аll over.
If necesѕary, cook in batches so tһey aге noot all
squashed toɡether, setting each batch аsiⅾｅ on a
plate whie ｙou cook the remainder.
4 Τo finish, remove thee meatballs fгom the paan аnd set asіde.
Рour thе tomato sauce intο the frying pan oveг a medium heat.
Put thｅ meatballs back іnto the pan for a furtһer 4-5 miutes to cook
tһrough. Sprinkle with the remaining parsley beforee
serving.
ТIP You ⅽan serve tһe meatballs aѕ they сome, or on tοр of spaghetti.
Іf you would prefer tһe lattеr, cok the pasta
accօrding to the packet instructions ᥙntil al dente.
Drain itt іn a colander, reserving a cupful oof tһe cooking water tօ loosen thｅ meatball sauce іf necеssary, аnd then ttransfer it back to thee pan andd toss
іt with a little olive oil ɑnd butter. Pᥙt tһｅ spaghwtti оn a serving plate аnd tоp witһ the meatballs ɑnd sauce.
Finish ԝith ɑ drizzle ᧐f olive oil аnd a sprinkle ᧐f parmesan.

It is not clear when Apollonia’s relationship with Prince began or ended as he was dating another
one of the stars of Purple Rain during the making of the film, Susan Moonsie.
Prince and Beyonce famously joined forces onstage at the 2004 Grammy Awards, performing a medley that
included his iconic 1984 single Purple Rain.
Their duet also included her fan favorite number Crazy In Love, which
saw him accompany her on the electric guitar.
Afterwards, Prince gave an interview in which he
shared his appraisal of Beyonce’s musical abilities when they
worked together.
‘I was really curious as to how much she knew musically, and
I was really pleased to find out that she knew a lot about
scales – Mixolydian scales and Egyptian styles and different things like that,’ he said.
‘And I was just trying to show her some chords on the piano and help her to respect the fact that if she
learns piano à la Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles and things like
that, the sky’s the limit as to what she could do, ’cause she’s so very talented.’
Prince died of an accidental overdose in 2016 at the age of just
57.

Just three weeks ago, tracking services pegged the movie
for a $70 million debut, which would still have been down a fair amount from
Joker’s record-breaking $96.2 million launch in October 2019.

or $50 million opening for a less expensive movie would

Joker: Folie à Deux cost at least twice as much as the first film to produce, though reported figures
vary at exactly how pricey it was to make. Phillips told Variety
that it was less than the reported $200 million; Others have
it pegged at $190 million. Warner Bros. released the film in 4,102 locations in North America.
About 12.5 percent of its domestic total came from 415 IMAX screens.
Internationally, it’s earned $81.1 million from 25,788 screens, bringing its total global earnings estimate to $121.1
million. In the next two weeks, Joker 2 will also open in Japan and China.
Second place went to Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s The Wild Robot,
which added $18.7 million in its second weekend, bringing its domestic total to nearly $64 million. Globally, it’s made
over $100 million. Warner Bros.’ Beetlejuice Beetlejuice took third place in weekend five,
Paramount’s Transformers One landed in fourth and Universal and Blumhouse’s Speak No
Evil rounded out the top five.
The other big new release of the weekend, Lionsgate’s
White Bird, flopped with just $1.5 million from just
over 1,000 locations, despite an A+ CinemaScore.
Overall, the weekend is up from the same frame last year, but Joker’s start is an unwelcome twist for theater owners hoping to narrow the box office
deficit.
The sequel has already been the subject of
many think pieces, some who posit that it was deliberately
alienating fans of the first movie
Phillips and star Joaquin Phoenix have said they aspired to make something as ‘audacious’ as the first film.
The sequel added Lady Gaga into the fold , as a Joker
superfan, and delved further into the mind of Arthur Fleck, imprisoned at Arkham and awaiting trial for the murders he committed
in the first. It´s also a musical, with elaborately imagined song and dance numbers to old standards.
Gaga even released a companion album called ”Harlequin,’ alongside the film.
The sequel has already been the subject of many think pieces, some who posit
that it was deliberately alienating fans of the first movie.
In cruder terms, it´s been called a ‘middle finger.’
But fans often ignore the advice of critics, especially when it comes to opening
their wallets to see revered comic book characters
on the big screen.
‘They took a swing for the fences,’ Dergarabedian said.
‘But except for a couple of outliers, audiences
in 2024 seem to want to know what they´re getting when they´re
going to the theater. They want the tried and true, the
familiar.’
Deadline editor Anthony D´Alessandro thinks the
problem started with the idea to make the Joker sequel a musical.
‘No fan of the original movie wanted to see a musical sequel,’ he
wrote on Saturday.
The first film was also divisive and the subject
of much discourse, then about whether it might send the wrong message to the
wrong type of person. And yet people still flocked to see what the fuss was about.
Joker went on to pick up 11 Oscar nominations, including best picture and
best director, and three wins. It also made over $1 billion and was the highest-grossing
R-rated film of all time, until this summer when Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine took the crown.
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore.
Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

SHANGHAI, Dec 6 (Reuters) – The yuan was little changed on Friday against the dollar, but is headed for its
tenth straight weekly loss amid concerns that new tariff threatened by President-elect Donald Trump will heighten strains on the struggling Chinese economy.
Analysts expect the dollar to remain firm as Trump’s policies are expected to drive up U.S.
inflation, but they believe Beijing will prevent
the yuan from falling too much. “We anticipate some depreciation pressure in an expected strong dollar environment,” Lynn Song, Greater China chief economist at ING, said in a note.
However, “we don’t expect an intentional large-scale depreciation and think the yuan will remain a low-volatility currency vis-à-vis most other Asian currencies.” The
yuan was changing hands at 7.2549 per dollar around midday, little moved from the previous close.
Although the currency has rebounded from a one-year low of 7.2996 hit on Tuesday, it is poised to register its
longest weekly losing streak since 2018.
The dollar index fell to one-week low overnight and “the USD’s consolidation should unwind the upside pressure building” in the yuan, aided by ongoing
attempts by China’s central bank to restrain its decline,
said Alvin Tan, strategist at RBC Capital Markets.
Recent data has painted a mixed picture of China’s economic recovery, with manufacturing activities improving, but property sales in many Chinese cities remaining weak.
China’s “economic landscape is unarguably dull, and the absence of excitement is perhaps the most salient feature,” said John Browning, managing
director of BANDS Financial. He doesn’t expect huge stimulus to be announced during
next week’s Central Economic Work Conference, as “Beijing’s largesse will be reserved until after Trump is restored to the White House and the trade war formally begins.”
Top policymakers will gather at the conference to agree on major economic goals
for next year.
But the target for 2025 growth, one of the most
closely-watched indicators globally for clues of Beijing’s near-term
policy intentions, likely will not be officially announced until an annual parliament
meeting in March. During Trump’s first term as president, the
yuan weakened about 5% against the dollar after the initial round
of U.S.
tariffs on Chinese goods in 2018, and fell another
1.5% a year later when trade tensions escalated. Growth worries and expectations of further
monetary easing by Beijing pushed China’s 10-year treasury yields below 2%
to record lows this week, worsening the yield disadvantage against the U.S., and exerting
downward pressure on the yuan. Lady Gaga fans are begging the singer to do a global tour – two
years after her last tour, The Chromatica Ball.
The pop superstar, 38, is preparing to release her seventh album, with fans hoping this will lead to a string of concerts.
However, a Live Nation spokesperson confirmed: ‘There is no 2025 tour
planned.’
The Sun reports that Lady Gaga will instead tour in 2026.
It comes as the hitmaker is set to release her new song Disease on Friday, as the first
single from her forthcoming seventh album.
