   400ց tin chopped tomatoes

   500g beef mince

   250ɡ English veal mince

   2 tbsp finely grated parmesan, ⲣlus extra tօ serve

   4 anchovies, finely chopped

   2 tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley

   350ɡ dried spaghetti, tօ serve (optional; see tіp)

   1 First make a tomato sauce. In а saucepan, heat ɑ dash of oliove oil oveг a medium heat, tһеn add hlf the chopped onion aand half tһе
   garlic, tһеn sauté fоr 10 minutes to soften.
   Аdd the tomatoes and whеn the liquid starts tо bubble,

   thick sauce), while you maкe thｅ meatballs.

   2 In a bowl, soak tһе brread in the milk until soft.
   In another bowl, mix the beef, veal, parmesan, anchovies, half tһe parsley and thе rest оf the onions and garlic.

   Τhen add the soaked bread, lightly squeezing aany excess milk fгom iit firѕt.
   Mix wｅll and season with salt and pepper. Mould the mixture іnto 12-14 meatballs.

    ‘The film continues to play in theatrical release, included with this week’s opening in China, and will continue to earn revenue throughout its home viewing
    and ancillary run.’

    So far, the musical about Batman’s nemesis has grossed $51.5 million domestically
    and $165 million globally after two weeks of release.

    In comparison, the first Joker grossed $96.2 million domestically and $248.4 million globally after three days of release.

    The hotly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 billion dollar Oscar-winning film was considered a surefire hit
    for Warner Bros Pictures, yet ended up being slammed by critics and failed to ignite at the box office. 

    Joker: Folie À Deux has garnered the lowest CinemaScore
    in comic book movie history as the film bombed at the box office on opening
    night. 

    The psychological musical thriller — which has been criticized

    A Warner spokesman added that a DC logo appears at the end of the

    Several frictions are said to have developed between Phillips, DC and Warner- with claims that Michael DeLuca, Chairperson of Warner Bros.
    Entertainment, and CEO Pamela Abdy seemed ‘unwilling’
    to say no to Phillips due to his huge past successes.

    It is claimed Phillips would ‘only’ speak with DeLuca and Abdy rather than Gunn and
    Safran – who took control of DC two months before production began on Joker 2 in December 2022.

    Gunn and Safran did attend the first director’s cut screening for the studio but Phillips
    fueled rift speculation when he told a reporter:
    ‘With all due respect to them, this is kind of a Warner
    Bros. movie.’

    Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also met with Phillips shortly
    after WarnerMedia and Discovery merged in April 2022 and was ‘open to
    filming in Los Angeles if the director would make the sequel
    at a lower price point.’

    The studio wanted to film in London which would have cost around 20 per cent
    less.

    A source directly involved with the film recently shared: ‘The
    one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t listen and pay attention to what the
    fan expectations are, you’re going to fail’; director
    Todd Phillips seen with Gaga and Phoenix at the LA premiere September 30

    However, Phillips insisted on filming in LA with the budget remaining static.

    A Warner spokesman told the publication the studio ‘supported the decision to film in Los Angeles’.

    The hotly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 billion dollar Oscar-winning
    film was considered a surefire hit for Warner Bros Pictures, yet ended up being
    slammed by critics and failed to ignite at the box office. 

    Joker: Folie À Deux has garnered the lowest CinemaScore in comic book movie history
    as the film bombed at the box office on opening night. 

    The psychological musical thriller — which has been criticized as ‘bleak’ and ‘disappointing’ —
    officially released in theaters on Friday, October 4.

    The film is ‘poised to lose at least $150 million to $200 million in its
    theatrical run’ according to the publication

    Madame Web — which notably also flopped in theaters earlier this year and also received terrible reviews — holds a
    higher score with a C+.

    On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds
    an audience score of 31% and a critic score of 32%.

    The sequel has been roundly criticized for being a musical and ‘ignoring’ the DC
    fanbase – with an agent familiar with director
    Todd Phillips’ process telling Variety he ‘wanted nothing to do with
    DC’ during the making of the film, with DC bosses James Gunn
    and Peter Safran notably absent from the film’s LA premiere afterparty last month. 

    A source said: ‘If the first movie was about some down-on-his-luck, mentally ill
    guy in a downtrodden city, it makes maybe $150 [million] worldwide.

    Not a billion. People showed up because that guy
    was Joker.’

    In an apparent snub by Phillips, the opening sequence of the film does not
    include a DC Studios logo.

    A Warner spokesman added that a DC logo appears at the end of the Joker sequel, while Phillips declined to comment to the publication.

    Several frictions are said to have developed between Phillips,
    DC and Warner- with claims that Michael DeLuca, Chairperson of Warner Bros.
    Entertainment, and CEO Pamela Abdy seemed ‘unwilling’ to say no to Phillips due to his huge past successes.

    It is claimed Phillips would ‘only’ speak with DeLuca and Abdy rather than Gunn and Safran – who took
    control of DC two months before production began on Joker 2 in December 2022.

    Gunn and Safran did attend the first director’s cut screening for the studio but Phillips fueled rift speculation when he told
    a reporter: ‘With all due respect to them, this is kind of a Warner Bros.
    movie.’

    Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also met with Phillips shortly after
    WarnerMedia and Discovery merged in April 2022 and was ‘open to filming in Los Angeles if the director
    would make the sequel at a lower price point.’

    The studio wanted to film in London which would have cost around
    20 per cent less.

    A source directly involved with the film recently shared:
    ‘The one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t listen and pay
    attention to what the fan expectations are, you’re going to fail’;
    director Todd Phillips seen with Gaga and Phoenix at
    the LA premiere September 30

    However, Phillips insisted on filming in LA with
    the budget remaining static.

    A Warner spokesman told the publication the studio
    ‘supported the decision to film in Los Angeles’.

    A source directly involved with the film said: ‘No one could get through to Todd.
    And the one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t listen and pay attention to what the fan expectations are, you’re going to fail.

    Insiders also claim studio bosses did not want to
    premiere the film at the Venice Film Festival, but Phillips pushed back –
    with a Warner spokesman saying the studio ‘fully supported
    the decision to bring the film to Venice. 

    Along with Gaga and Phoenix, other stars that had appeared in the sequel
    include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Zazie Beatz and
    Steve Coogan.

    Anyone who knows me has invariably been subject to a spiel
    about how much I love Claudia Winkleman. In part, it’s because she’s so silly,
    and in part, it’s because I’m a huge fan of everything she presents, from Strictly
    to The Traitors. 

    But even more than any of that, it’s because I’m obsessed with everything she wears.
    I’ve spent a fortune copying her exact outfits, from her Sister Jane heart cutout dress to a bedazzled Nadine Merabi blazer that
    I definitely don’t go anywhere fancy enough to wear.

    Since 2005, Claudia has worked with stylist Sinead McKeefry
    to perfect her signature style. I’d describe it as soft goth:
    lots of black, velvet and chunky knits, with a fair few sequins and prints
    (particularly tartan) thrown in. I’m not alone
    in my reverence: there are entire Instagram
    accounts dedicated to tracking down the presenter’s outfits.
    But while they offer incredibly useful style inspo, two issues arise repeatedly:
    Claudia’s clothes are usually hugely expensive or sold out (or both).

    So when the Strictly host stepped out in a typically preppy
    black velvet mini dress on Sunday, you’d be forgiven for assuming it was by some top-end designer.
    Well, you’d be wrong. The mini dress actually came courtesy of one of our favourite high street brands, Albaray – and you can pick it up for less than £100.

    The dress is made from plush fabric with contrast satin detailing.
    The velvet makes it a little festive, perfect for celebratory bashes over the next few months, particularly
    when paired with white stilettos à la Claud. But it could be just as easily dressed
    down with white trainers or ballet flats and a trench for a chic office outfit, so you’ll certainly get your wear out
    of it.  

    Like all of Albaray’s products, it’s ethically made using
    responsible fabric and sent via a carbon-neutral shipping method,
    so you can feel good about the dress’s eco-credentials as well as how it looks.

    M. Night Shyamalan threw an epic Halloween party in Philadelphia on Saturday night.

    The Sixth Sense director, 54, dressed as the villainous Joker for his ‘Shyamaween’ bash.

    His makeup was perfectly creepy and his costume was from the 2008 film The Dark Knight, which saw the
    late Heath Ledger play the iconic villain.  

    Shyamalan’s wife, Dr. Bhavna Shyamalan, 55, looked beautiful in an amber-colored, Victorian era gown with bats all over it.

    The foundation ‘supports the grassroots efforts of
    emerging leaders as they work to eliminate the barriers created by poverty
    and social injustice in their communities,’ according to its website.

    M. Night shot to fame in 1999 with his film The Sixth Sense, which celebrated turning 25-years-old in August.

    Shyamalan recently opened up about that film’s impact on his career in an interview with People.

    ‘At this point, there’s so many generations of people that have watched [my] different movies,’ the director said.

    He added that some, people ‘only know me from [2015 movie] The
    Visit from then on, so they don’t even know about
    The Sixth Sense. So when I think about that,
    it’s wild.’

    ‘Each movie, I feel this way — that I don’t know if it’ll ever
    get made. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to make another one…
    “If this is the last one, I want it to just represent me,”‘
    he continued.

    Shyamalan, who was born in Mahé India but grew up in Penn Valley, Pennsylvania,
    released two films in the 1990s before The Sixth Sense.

    That set off a string a big hits for the filmmaker that includes Unbreakable (2000),
    Signs (2002) and The Village (2004), that ultimately ended with the release of Lady In The
    Water (2006), which barely covered the $70 million budget.

    His biggest box office success was with The Sixth Sense, grossing $672.8 million while working with a $40 million budget 25 years ago.

    To date, the film made $6.6 million on its first day, including an estimated $2.2 million from the Thursday night previews.

    SHANGHAI, Oct 9 (Reuters) – China’s yuan held steady against the U.S.

    dollar on Wednesday, as investors awaited more stimulus from
    the world’s second-largest economy and the Federal Reserve’s September meeting minutes due later in the day to gauge its policy path.

    The dollar held steady, giving some relief to the yuan after a sharp rally to a seven-week high last week.

    Spot yuan opened at 7.0650 per dollar and was last trading
    12 pips lower than the previous late session close at 7.066.
    Prior to the market opening, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) set the midpoint rate, around which the yuan is allowed to trade in a 2%
    band, at 7.0568 per dollar, only 3 pips weaker than a Reuters’ estimate.

    China’s blue-chip CSI300 index dropped for the first time since Sept.
    13, poised to snapping a 10-day winning streak, after officials on Tuesday
    failed to offer much new on stimulus plans to revive the economy.
    The yuan is down 0.7% against the dollar so far this month,
    due to broad dollar strength, but the currency has
    0.5% firmed for the year-to-date.

    China equities’ recent rally has raised the bar for an upside
    surprise from expected fiscal stimulus news,
    said UBS strategists led by Rohit Arora, adding that the offshore yuan’s near-term
    risk reward is unattractive. “Historically, fizzling of China equities’ spurts acted as a bigger drag on CNH vis-à-vis the tailwinds from equities’ surge,” the strategists said.

    Nevertheless, market participants are still awaiting additional stimulus measures that could help
    further lift China asset sentiment. Citi FX traders think the offshore yuan could trade well if local equities remain supported,
    similar to what happened in Nov. 2022 – Jan. 2023, according
    to the bank’s note to clients.

    The offshore yuan traded at 7.0682 yuan per dollar, up about 0.09% in Asian trade.

    The dollar’s six-currency index was 0.039% higher at 102.53.

    April 23 (Reuters) – Philip Morris International on Tuesday surpassed market expectations for
    first-quarter profit and revenue, helped by robust demand for its
    heated tobacco product and Zyn nicotine pouches.

    The Marlboro maker’s flagship heated tobacco
    device IQOS, expected to launch in the United States in the
    second quarter, has been a driving force behind its effort to make more money from alternatives to traditional cigarettes.

    Shipments of PMI’s IQOS units grew by 20.9% to 33.1 billion in the first quarter, compared with a
    6.1% rise in the preceding quarter. PMI had forecast
    first-quarter shipments of between 31 billion and 32 billion sticks.

    The company’s first-quarter revenue of $8.79 billion beat market expectations of $8.47 billion,
    according to LSEG data.

    Demand for the IQOS device and associated tobacco sticks in major markets like Japan helped
    the company offset the impact of a ban on flavored heated tobacco
    products in the European Union.

    Philip Morris said the heat-not-burn category surpassed combustible cigarettes in Tokyo in the quarter.

    PMI has also enjoyed fast-growing U.S. sales of its ZYN nicotine pouches.

    Shipments of ZYN grew 79.7% from the same period last year.

    It also raised its expectations for nicotine-pouch shipment volumes in the to U.S.
    to about 560 million cans from about 520 million cans expected earlier.

    Philip Morris reported first-quarter adjusted profit of $1.50 per share,
    beating estimates of $1.41.

    However, the company’s shares were down marginally
    in premarket trade after it cut its annual adjusted profit forecast to between $6.19 and $6.31 per share, from $6.32
    to $6.44 estimated earlier.

    Excluding currency fluctuations, however, the company expects
    adjusted earnings per share of $6.55 to $6.67,
    up from its earlier forecast of $6.43 to $6.55 per share.
