The Rector of Yaba College of Technology, Engr. Femi Omokungbe, has announced the suspension of six students, including fast-rising rapper and singer Trhymesz, amidst an ongoing investigation into the activities of a popular entertainment group on yabatech campus known as 42ent. The group, founded by Trhymesz and some other students, has come under scrutiny for organizing concerts and parties on and off campus, events that the school authorities have deemed illegal.

According to the college administration, the gatherings organized by 42ent have been primarily attended and funded by young men who are suspected of being gay or homosexual. This has raised concerns among the college officials, leading to the current investigation.

One such party, held on Friday, October 11th, at the King Celia Hotel near the YabaTech campus, featured popular queer-affiliated celebrities like Denrele, Emmyblaq, and Fola Francis. The event was abruptly halted when the college’s security unit intervened, dispersing the attendees, most of whom were students.

Trhymesz, who has recently been rumored to be in a romantic relationship with Lagos socialite Oloruntobi Peters, was photographed performing at the event. He wore a shirt with the inscription “for everyone” and the LGBTQ pride flag, images of which were later removed from his Instagram page.

Engr. Omokungbe emphasized that all six suspended students could face expulsion and possible legal action if evidence of actual homosexual activity linked to the group is found. He stated, “No form of illegal activity will be tolerated on Yabatech campus.”

The investigation continues as the college administration works to determine the extent of 42ent’s activities and their impact on the student body. This incident underscores the administration’s firm stance against activities deemed inappropriate or illegal within the college community.
